One of the biggest lies this season is the continuation of the lie that has been taught to our public school children since the 1970s, when the teachers unions gained control of our educational system. Contrary to the claims of people who make a living off of racism, the United States Civil War was not caused by slavery. This lie is common among a very dangerous family of birds, the North American Spineless Liar. On of the worst is Angie Nixon, the communist who is trying to become a United States Senator.
I used to tell people that they should read the records of the South Carolina and Georgia legislatures for the two years leading up to the Civil War. There was very little discussion about slavery and that discussion was never in the context of northern aggression.
