Good morning, all. There is no AI in the following share:

Liar Season - Episode 3
The Truth about Slavery
ROBERT DUCHEMIN SR
SEP 19

One of the biggest lies this season is the continuation of the lie that has been taught to our public school children since the 1970s, when the teachers unions gained control of our educational system. Contrary to the claims of people who make a living off of racism, the United States Civil War was not caused by slavery. This lie is common among a very dangerous family of birds, the North American Spineless Liar. On of the worst is Angie Nixon, the communist who is trying to become a United States Senator.

I used to tell people that they should read the records of the South Carolina and Georgia legislatures for the two years leading up to the Civil War. There was very little discussion about slavery and that discussion was never in the context of northern aggression. The Civil War and the South’s decision to leave the Union was caused by the same thing that caused the American Revolution: over-taxation by a government in which the seceding states felt they were not fairly represented. The states wanted to leave the Union for the same reason and in the same way as the 13 colonies left the British Empire.

When it comes to North American Spineless Liars, however, they are too stupid and too lazy to do their own research. They prefer to regurgitate lies that emotionalize people. So, I have come up with a more effective way of shooting down this lie. When they start on about the Civil War being fought to free slaves, I simply say, “Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky, and Missouri.” When they are stumped, I explain that those four states fought on the side of the Union but were slave states. If the Civil War was about slavery, that never would have happened.

In reality, a place rarely visited by Democrats, President Lincoln bent over backwards to convince the border states mentioned above that the war was not about slavery. He knew the Union would not prevail if those four states were on the other side. In fact, when the inbred hillbillies of West Virginia decided to secede from Virginia during the war, both President Lincoln and the United States Congress (now entirely in control of the abolitionists with no southern states represented) allowed the newly formed state of West Virginia to switch sides and keep their slaves, notwithstanding the emancipation proclamation. This too was easily learned from reading the congressional record. Too bad the racists and unionized teachers are too lazy to do so.

It was the superiority of the Southern military officers, especially General Lee (more on him below), that convinced President Lincoln of the possibility of the South winning after the war broke out. The previously unconscionable amount of casualties was his main concern. He issued his emancipation proclamation to encourage slaves to revolt and join the Union army. That was the same move the British made toward the end of the Revolutionary War. Many military scholars believe this would have worked if done earlier in the revolutionary war.

That proclamation, by the way, was unconstitutional because it would require an act of Congress to free the slaves. That was something congressional representatives had no problem telling the West Virginians to entice them to leave the Confederacy.

As to Robert E. Lee, the commies continue to compound their lies. He was brought up in the south in an environment where slavery was accepted. It is unfair to judge somebody like that by today’s standards. I find it amazing that the same people who excuse Muslim behavior because of the way they were raised, condemn RobertE. Lee for the same thing.

What they should do is recognize what he did accomplish. Prior to the Civil War he was in charge of the top college in the United States as the commandant of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. As the top educator in the United States, on his own he acknowledged slavery must be discontinued. In a letter to his sister 10 years before the Civil War began, he acknowledged that “slavery is a moral and economic abomination.” After the war, he became president of Washington College and until his death encourage people to teach every former slave how to read and write because he believed, “former slaves must be educated for them to take their appropriate place in society.” Just think how much better off we would be today if we had followed his advice.

He also suggested, again before the Civil War, that slavery should be brought to an end through “Christian charity” instead of force. He felt that ending slavery through force would cause so much resentment with slave owners that their hatred could last for years. He was wrong; it lasted for decades. When continued through forced integration and forced affirmative action, it lasted for centuries.

Finally, the NASLs are lying about Lee’s commitment to slavery. He was Lincoln’s first choice to lead the union army and in his response he explained that he would be honored to lead the Union army in its quest to keep South Carolina from seceding, but his decision would have to depend on the legislature of his home commonwealth of Virginia. Should they decide to side with South Carolina, he told the President, he would not be able to lead the Union army because his own morality would not allow him to “commit war on [his] family and neighbors.“

Jefferson Davis was so convinced that Lee was anti-slavery that he was given a command in the southwest for fear that he would sympathize with the invading Union army. Only after several Union victories did Lee become the leader of the Confederate army. When he surrendered at Appomattox he was praised by colonels on both sides of the conflict, many of whom were his former students. In fact, one of the colonels at Appomattox was the best man in the wedding of a colonel on the other side. Lee was a man worthy of great respect. Our failure to respect him today is an abomination on the same level as slavery.

As to the USA‘s role in worldwide slavery, the North American Spineless Liars are again full of bird poop. Of all of the people enslaved in Africa and brought to the New World, less than 10% ended up in North America. The tiny island of Jamaica imported more slaves than the entire area that later became the United States.

Of the black people now living in the United States, more than 90% come from ancestors who were never enslaved in the United States. To pay them reparations would do nothing but cause more resentment between races, which is exactly what the Marxists want.

The USA was actually the first of the civilized nations to begin to bring an end to slavery. In 1789 the USA ratified the Constitution, which provided in Article one, Section 9, clause one, that the importation of slaves could be prohibited after 1808 and until that time Congress could oppose a tax of up to $10 per slave (about $400 today), which effectively brought an immediate end to the slave trade.

France did not ban slavery until 1794, five years later, and then it was restored in 1802. The British Empire did not ban slavery until 1833, but not in Jamaica until the following year and not in India (were slaves were needed to farm cotton to compete with the Americans) until 1843. Spain did not completely abolish slavery until 1886.

Slavery was present from the earliest days of recorded history in every part of the world. The Vikings took slaves, so did Genghis Khan, the Tartars, Greeks, Byzantines Celts, Hibernians and Europeans. Slavery existed in all of the Middle East and Africa (where American slaves were actually enslaved), most famously in Egypt. In China the testicles of male slaves were removed to reduce their desire to escape. There is no race that has escaped enslavement.

Today slavery exists in China, Russia, and North Korea. More than 40,000 slaves die in Siberian mines every year. They are mostly Chinese and North Korean. To do business with them while chastising America for a slave economy that was imported is ridiculous. Yet California’s governor travel to China and hosted their leader and attempt to boost trade between his state and China. Yes, the US Constitution specifically prohibits that as well.

Instead of chastising Americans for something that ended in this country almost 200 years ago, most of which did not ever occur in our country, we should praise the 56 men who signed a document under the penalty of death at a time when slavery existed in every country in the world to declare for the first time in history that “all men are created equal.“
