My daughter had to fly out this morning. Going from ATL to NOLA. She got to the airport at 5 for a 7:30 flight. She made it to the plane with a few minutes to spare.
She described the TSA line as being split into two parts. lf you have TSA pre-check you go to the line that is wrapped around baggage claim in the South Terminal. Sounds bad right? No, she made it.
lf you weren't willing to pay the cost of pre-check and your line in the North Terminal is wrapped around baggage claim and ends somewhere in the parking lot. It's really long.
She comes back on Thursday. NOLA has done away with pre-check. Maybe the ICE agents will be on duty then and the lines will be shorter? Can't say that to her though, she is against ICE.
Moral of the story: If it's under 8 hours drive.
