Sure the first inclination is to be a bit put-off by these meetings President Trump is having with Mayor Mamdani. At the same time, consider this: Republicans / MAGA with functioning brain cells know there is no way Mamdani is going to rub off on Trump. The worst thing is the seemingly bad look, giving Mamdani some kind of credibility because of Trump’s desire to meet. On the other hand, the crazies on the left can’t be crazy about Mamdani spending quality time with the enemy. I’m sure many are beside themselves with visions of a less radical, compromising, kinder and gentler Commie after he stands there and blurts out what we know is insincere nonsense having to do with working together or something. Bottom line: President Trump is playing the percentages, with Mamdani getting the short end of the stick. Then there’s the whole ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer’ thing, and the fact President Trump cares about NYC and this may be a method of choice to try doing what damage control is possible.

Awhile ago, I did a health check-in with a United Healthcare House Calls nurse that comes to see me twice a year. We went over my meds and medical history, she gave me paperwork on dietary improvements, chair exercises, and employing an Advance Directive - I'm leaning toward Do Not Resuscitate in mine - and after checking my blood pressure, breathing, heart, and memory, I did my weigh-in.
And guess what?
August 2024: 360 lbs.
Today: 230 lbs.
God is good. 😊
