We Remember

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, and the families who have carried the unimaginable pain of losing someone they loved.

9/11 reminded us that nowhere feels completely safe and that life can change in an instant. But it also reminded us of courage, compassion, and the strength of people coming together.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

25 years ago today my cousin Tim was working in tower two . He recently graduated from Princeton and was workin his new that he started a month prior . He phoned his father , my cousin. John on duty at a Chicago firehouse . John was watching it unfold live on TV. I was at a con-ed class ( I am also a CFD firefighter / paramedic ). We were watching it on the classroom television . When tower two was hit we knew we were under attack . We were sent home to get our belongings and respond to our assigned firehouses . My cousin John watched in horror because shortly before tower 2 was struck Tim told his dad he and others in his office were evacuating . Cell phones were disabled, John had not heard from Tim . I am very happy to report that Tim did make it safely out of tower 2. When I had chance to ask him what he remember most from that day . He told him can vividly remember the faces of the firemen running up the stairs as he was running down . NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
