Ahead of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced a planned logo change to reflect the fact that the department is “at war every single day.”
Mullin announced plans to change the DHS seal so the eagle faces the arrows instead of the palm leaf, symbolizing the department’s focus on threats from terrorism, cartels, cyberattacks, and drones.
"Every time we stop a threat, a terrorist act or a criminal activity that's taking place, they also change their tactics. We have to be constantly moving from cyber to sea to air and to land."
