The heat has been almost unbearable. The heat index has been over 100 for at least 5 days. Charlie and I went to the bank and then to KFC and the car said it was 100 degrees outside. Hubby mowed the grass yesterday after the temp dropped to the 90s. Even Charlie doesn't want to be outside for very long. Radar shows rain about 4pm, but a lot of that is going around Milton. I prefer to stay inside with the air conditioning. I should make pizza for the WVU-Coastal Carolina game, but I really don't want to heat up the house. Guess it will be takeout pizza again.
Send help......and a storage unit. He kept the m'fer a secret. Maybe I should come home with a pair of $1000 shoes.

Tonight I’m making Cook’s Illustrated Warm Bread Salad. A roasted chicken cooked right on top of cubes of rustic sourdough bread, soaking up all those delicious chicken drippings. Once everything is roasted, it’s served over mixed greens with crispy croutons.
The recipe calls for arugula, but nobody in this house likes that stuff. We prefer our salad without the taste of lawn clippings.
