Monarch Update - not interested, please scroll along.

Monarch #4 was born late morning today. Found this egg on 7/19. Not sure yet if it's a boy or girl. Seems to have a weak left leg, but I notice it's moving better now as it practices flapping its wings. 7 to go.

We Remember

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, and the families who have carried the unimaginable pain of losing someone they loved.

9/11 reminded us that nowhere feels completely safe and that life can change in an instant. But it also reminded us of courage, compassion, and the strength of people coming together.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

One of my favorite commentators at that time on Fox

Barbara Olson was an American lawyer, author, and prominent conservative television commentator who tragically lost her life at age 45 during the September 11 terrorist attacks. She was a passenger aboard American Airlines Flight 77, which was hijacked by terrorists and flown into the Pentagon.

She delayed her departure to September 11 so she could wake up with her husband, U.S. Solicitor General Ted Olson, to celebrate his 61st birthday.

Calls to Ted Olson: After terrorists took over the aircraft, Barbara managed to make two phone calls to her husband at the Justice Department. With remarkable composure, she reported that the plane had been hijacked, that the perpetrators were armed with knives and box cutters, and that the passengers and crew had been forced to the back of the plane.

Here's Ted telling the story.
