Key Statues and Monuments

U.S. Capitol / North Dakota State Capitol (Sakakawea): Created in 1910 by sculptor Leonard Crunelle, using his model Mink Woman (Sacagawea's granddaughter). A replica was placed in the National Statuary Hall Collection at the U.S. Capitol in 2003.

Washington Park (Portland, Oregon): Sacajawea and Jean-Baptiste was sculpted by Alice Cooper and dedicated in 1905 for the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition.
