Timely as to the A Block fauci discussion - this rolled up on my FB Memories from 6 years ago - All of this data is from 2020 - during the height of tracking - the gov't & other sources stopped the tracking after summer 2020 I believe. This does not reflect 2020 - now - but the media did its job to gin up fear and cause extremely hurtful decisions for society moving forward.

And yes, Covid was a very serious illness, and the resulting deaths were very sad.

So because of all the reporting and barrage of numbers, I, myself, made a spreadsheet to keep track of the data though; so I could make sense of the numbers I hear/see, gain a good perspective, and feel more at ease. I use both the covidtracking.com and WI-DHS numbers for my spreadsheet. [And my engineering training causes me to like to keep track of data and make spreadsheets. I do the same thing for local weather (and I have for many years).]

As of yesterday (7-29), WI had 0.9% of the population test/probable +results, and 0.02% have died.(Much like the US, as a whole). For just the 51.049 + cases: 911 or 1.78% have died, but on a happier note, 40416 or 79.17% of the + cases are listed as recovered.

AMERICANS BELIEVE 9% OF PEOPLE IN THE U.S. HAVE DIED FROM THE CORONAVIRUS, 225 TIMES MORE THAN ACTUALLY HAVE

by Kevin Ryan

A new poll asked people what percentage of people in their country have contracted the coronavirus or died from it. The average percentage is shown for each.

Poll Question: How many people in your country have had COVID-19?

Americans Answered: 20%

Reality: 1%

Poll Question: How many people in your country have died from COVID-19?

Americans Answered: 9%

Reality: 0.04%

In other words, Americans believe 225 times more people in the U.S. have died from COVID-19 that actually have.

And it’s not much better overseas. People in France, Sweden, and the UK all believed around one hundred times more people died in their country than the actual rate, and people in Denmark were off by 300 times.

These perceptions are impacting consumer behavior, voter sentiment, and attitudes about how strict shutdowns and other restrictions should be.

Here’s what the actual U.S. cumulative case and fatality numbers were on the dates that the poll was taken (July 10th to 15th):

Cases: 3,322,231 = 1.0% of the population

Deaths: 127,944 = 0.04% of the population

My own data -
For my spreadsheet, I use + cases & deaths from the county breakdown page of WI-DHS website. The rest of the numbers are from covidtracking.com. I also break out Milwaukee from WI, and I look at other various states that have been in the news for comparison.

I also make a snip of the covidtracking.com's WI portion. The hand-scrawled #s are the discrepancy between covidtracking.com and WI-DHS website numbers.

Problem solved.
Martha has A LOT of main coon in her. The fur goes on forever.
However, she still has plenty of kitten left in her and when I brush her, she thinks it's playtime. Ouch!
But she is also a glutton. Put food in front of her face and she doesn't care about the brushing anymore.
So this morning she looks fantastic. No more tangles, no starter mats. Just lots of soft fur. Lol
