Gute moaning, good friends. I greet you well.
Apologies for not keeping my (rashly made) promise to return to action. I'm afraid everything went pear-shaped.
Still, musn't grumble. I'm still standing - or lying down, mostly - looking at the world through plastic sheets, highly-oxygenated air, and a lot of beeping.
I watched the USA team's progress in the late World Cup with a great deal of satisfaction. A shame it ended on a sour note. DJT should have stayed out of sport and FIFA should have refused his request. But FIFA has always been corrupt and predictably sees the riches to be gained if the sport takes off in the USA (I have my doubts), so nobody was much surprised.
Just the same, I expect that in four years the USA will have a team good enough to at least make a semi-final.
I found it difficult to support England. In that pointless third-place run-off against France, of the 22 players on the field only two were European. That gives a small indication of the extent of the takeover...
Morning Gutter Gang. Today is proving itself to be a whole better day than yesterday and it's not even 9 a.m. here. Has to be a decent day. 🙏
And any decent has to start out with a good breakfast, right? Maybe you're having eggs with bacon or sausage. Could be having pancakes or waffles. Possibly something a little healthier like oatmeal and fruit. Even the old reliable breakfast of cereal and toast is pretty good. Yup, Saturday mornings with cartoons and cereal, that's the ticket.
Or, how 'bout just a look back for a Rice Krispies commercial from 60+ years ago? Be back in a bit...
