For the young oppressed peoples of today that think capitalism is not working for them and has never worked, I recommend looking back into history and you will see clear evidence where capitalism has worked and worked well.
My grandmother’s mother passed away when Nanna was just 14 yo - as a result Nanna had to go into service. She slept in the bathtub of the home of the family she served, had to ensure she rose before her employers and make sure there was no evidence she had slept in that room!
So many children of her generation and before were forced either into service in their early teens (some even earlier) or forced into some other form of labour in order to help provide for their families.
Education, although recognised as important, had to take a back step, simply for families to survive.
Capitalism enabled poorer people to rise up and out of their situations, enabled their children to gain an education, enabled them to do further training to better their lives.
Today, the entitlement of the younger generations, believing they are oppressed, believing they need mental health days, believing they are oppressed simply because an older generation will not pander to them and affirm their pronouns or made up “gender”, and have the luxury of endless education for useless degrees. The modern generation has the luxury of ideology because the generations before them really were oppressed and climbed out of it because of capitalism!
