Iran - Historically Predictible

For several years I have spoken and written about how the CIA was the direct cause of the problems between the United States and Iran. Although Mohamed Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, improved the lifestyles and education of the Iranian people to a level not seen anywhere in the Middle East outside of Israel, he favored the British nobles over his own people economically. In doing so, he substantially limited their freedom.
When the people protested against all profits from gasoline and groceries being handed over to the British Nobles, the Shah responded with a deaf ear. In an effort to win their freedom, the people turned to the United States. Many of them had become employed by US companies and many had spent time in the United States.
The USA, however, sided with the British Nobles. The USA did so based on faulty advice from its primary intelligence service, the CIA. As a result, the Iranian people grouped the USA and all of its companies that had set up facilities inside of Iran with the British. Although the CIA generated pro-American propaganda throughout the world, they never pushed pro-American propaganda in Iran. No explanation has ever been given.
The void created when the Shah was forced out of office left the Iranians with no ability to govern themselves. By comparison, when the United States threw off its oppressive, authoritarian government, the states had in place their own legislatures and governments that were able to continue governing without anarchy.
When a revolution creates a void, the most brutal and vicious faction will take control. During the Russian Revolution, there were several competing factions of communists. The most brutal communists, those willing to kill their opponents and murder the entire ruling family were the ones who prevailed. The same thing happened in China and everywhere else. Castro was not the first revolutionary in Cuba. He was the only one willing to murder anybody standing in his way.
Similarly, the USA left voids in Iraq and Afghanistan and anti-American factions were able to seize power by using the same brutal tactics as the dictators they put to death. History does keep repeating itself. . . unless we learn from it.
Here, Donald Trump has shown exceptional ability and willingness to learn. When the experts told him we should never close the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, he listened and learned. If Joe Biden had listened and learned, the people of Afghanistan would be enjoying a better lifestyle under a pro-American government than the oppressive, brutal force of a government that continues to murder its own citizens on a daily basis.
When President Trump removed the dictator in Venezuela, he left in place a government that would prevent a more violent faction from taking control of the country. There he followed the historical successes, not the failures.
When Germany was defeated in the Great War, the Allied powers left a void and Hitler was able to use it to seize power. After World War II, George Marshall convinced the allies that we could not leave Germany with such a void again.
Fellow students of history also will recall that the German military wanted to surrender after the battle of Stalingrad but Hitler would not consider it. He then gave the SS control of the military. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard is today’s SS. President Trump is trying to assist the legitimate Iranian government in taking control back from the Revolutionary Guard.
Yet, more than 40 years after what could be the biggest blunder in its history, the “Company” continues to drop the ball. The CIA should have spent the last 47 years finding a way to get the pro-American and anti-Arab (unlike those in control, the Iranians are actually Persians and not Arabs) factions to work together to set up a real democracy like they envisioned in 1979.
During his first term President Trump instructed the CIA to come up with a plan to help the Iranians take back their country. Of course, whoever was in control of the USA during China Joe‘s reign allowed the CIA to do whatever they wanted and once again, the CIA failed to put American interests first.
The biggest impediment to peace with Iran is the CIA. We need to dismantle it.

Thank you to everyone who shared recipes and helped keep my temporary “toaster oven, bbq, and crockpot era” alive. Here’s hoping to the kitchen face look flies by fast.

This cartoon says exactly what a lot of the so-called smart people in our culture do not want to admit.
Science does not lead away from God. At the end of science is God, period.
“The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will make you an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you.”
That pretty much sums it up.
A little science can make someone arrogant. A little knowledge can make a person think they have outgrown faith, outgrown God, and outgrown the people who still believe there is a Creator behind all of this.
But that is not wisdom. That is pride.
The deeper you go into real science, the harder it becomes to believe any of this is an accident.
The universe is too ordered, too precise, too mathematical, too perfectly balanced, and too full of mystery to be brushed off as nothing more than random chance.
Look at physics. Look at biology. Look at the fine tuning of the universe.
Look at the complexity of life. Look at consciousness, ...
This Day In American History
A French gift with an American soul steamed into New York Harbor on this day, marking 141 years since the Statue of Liberty first appeared on the skyline. Packed in more than 200 crates and escorted by the French frigate Isère, Liberty arrived not as a single monument but as 350 copper pieces—essentially a giant kit awaiting assembly on Bedloe’s Island. The pedestal wasn’t even ready; fundraising had lagged until Joseph Pulitzer rallied ordinary Americans with penny-and-dime donations, a turning point that made the statue not just a symbol of freedom, but of civic participation. Designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi with engineering by Gustave Eiffel, the statue became a beacon for millions entering through nearby Ellis Island. Her torch has since framed our national debates—immigration, democracy, protest—reminding us that ideals are both inherited and continually built. Less known: Lady Liberty briefly served as a working lighthouse, its ...
