ARMY BIRTHDAY
Every year on June 14 we celebrate the birthday of the United States Army. Let's tip our hats and raise a glass to the military branch that was born in 1775.
#ArmyBirthday
Formed from amateur troops of volunteer soldiers defending colonies against British tyranny, the oldest military force in the United States began before the U.S. formally existed. Their forces consisted of mostly inexperienced militiamen commanded by independent colonial armies. According to battlefields.org, there were never more than 48,000 Continental soldiers at one time. Today, the United States Army consists of over 1 million active-duty service members and an additional 800,000 Army National Guard and Reserve members.
The enduring history of the U.S. Army means they have been integral to many of the United State's military, peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts. During the Army's Birthday, these and many advancements will be recognized through events and ceremonies.
ARMY BIRTHDAY HISTORY
The U.S. Army celebrates its birthday every year on June 14, marking the date in 1775 when the Continental Congress authorized the enlistment of riflemen to serve the colonies. [1, 2]
History and Significance
Founding: The Continental Army was established by the Second Continental Congress on June 14, 1775, to unify the 13 colonies in the Revolutionary War. George Washington was unanimously appointed as its Commander-in-Chief.
Predecessor: It is older than the United States itself, predating the Declaration of Independence by more than a year.
Traditions and Celebrations
Flag Day: Because June 14 is also celebrated as Flag Day in the U.S., the Army's birthday holds a dual patriotic significance.
Birthday Balls: Army units, military installations, and associations often host formal "Army Birthday Balls" or galas around this date.
Physical Training: Installations frequently host unit runs, 5K races, and other community fitness events in early to mid-June.
Capital Events: The Military District of Washington usually holds signature events, including twilight tattoos, wreath-laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, and special tributes at MLB games

Congratulations to @IMP85. Your Huli Huli recipe was chosen for tonight’s Sunday Suppers. After a fierce showdown between Imp amd @Arius-Trychus, the sugar won this round. I got the entries down to two and Mark chose the winner. Oh, and it was delicious. Sorry @Arius-Trychus, sweet always talks louder for Mark.
@Imp85, please keep an eye out for an email from a Gutter Team Member.
Thank you to everyone who shared recipes and helped keep my temporary “toaster oven, bbq, and crockpot era” alive. Here’s hoping to the kitchen face look flies by fast.
Almost all of the incredibly wealthy people you can name in America(as compared to the "leaders" of places like Saudi Arabia) have become wealthy by one way. By making something people want and are happily willing to turn over money to get. Then then allow people to share in the wealth and profits of that company by allowing people to buy a piece of that company in the stock market.
As much as people made fun of Bill Gates and Microsoft, it's integrated systems allowed for much more efficient way to use computers. Jeff Bezos allows me to choose among a virtually limitless array of products...at usually the best price available, and have it delivered to my house at NO charge(still can't figure out how a $2 item gets delivered at no charge)
The entire Democratic party is built on getting people to violate the 10th commandent...that thou shalt not covet. That is all they promote...somebody else has something you want so vote for me so we can take it from them.
...
Happy Sunday everyone!
Happy birthday to Boy George, lead singer for Culture Club.

@GGsister1 and my beloved friends
I am now coming up for air and my life has become mine again. I’m good and good things are happening. I have done the uphill walk and cried when I had to, and the path now is level and the walk is easier 😌 God is good and I held on to my faith. He’s brought me up and out of the gully I was in. So much to tell y’all but for now just know a lot of what kept me going was knowing you all were here, my friends who have cared and appreciated me and who I so deeply appreciate and care for in return. Love y’all. 💓
