It's disheartening to watch our political system slowly being destroyed. The Karmelo case received far more attention than it should have, and it was for all the wrong reasons. Democrats, completely devoid of solutions, are using that case to drum up their base ahead of the midterms.

Crockett, whose congressional district was redrawn and then lost her seat in the Primary elections, is using this case to "stay relevant". It's disgusting. Her version of the events in the courtroom is pure fiction. Austin Metcalf did not use his fists to pummel Karmelo. Karmelo was not surrounded by three to four people. The jury was not all white. There were minorities on the jury. Granted, there were no blacks, but the case was never about race. But that's never stopped Jasmine.

Recently, another high-profile case from 1992 saw the convicted killer pass away while in prison on May 8th of this year. Her name was Betty Broderick, and she was convicted of killing her ex-husband and his new wife while they were asleep in bed. The two cases are somewhat similar. In Broderick's case, people used her first trial to "shine a light" on the injustice brought to a woman whose husband divorces her for a younger woman. That trial ended in a mistrial.

In the second trial, the prosecution learned from its mistakes and emphasized the brutality of the murder. Broderick was put on the witness stand believing she could land a not guilty verdict, but was excoriated. I bring up this case to drive home the need to concentrate on the crime. Not the color of the skin of the perpetrator or the victim. Not the problems of their personal lives. But on the choice they made in killing another human being. Neither Broderick nor Anthony was justified in their actions.

In the Broderick case, many had feared she might try to kill her ex-husband and pleaded with her to "let it go". She didn't and had to pay the price for her crime. She died while in prison.

In the Anthony case, there had to be signs he was capable of committing murder. Was he influenced by the rhetoric of Jasmine Crockett and others, who are now justifying his murder of Austin Metcalf? Did his parents influence him? We may never know.

In both cases, the juries from both cases looked at the facts and realized the accused had made a conscience decision to kill. And that's the way it needed to be.

Now, the politicians and activists who used both cases "to further their cause" need to do a lot of introspection. Each person is responsible for their own actions, and resorting to crime is never the answer. But for the politicians, the temptation to use the incidents to increase their political power is too much. They always give in.

After Beheading Attempt In Ireland, New York Times Says The Real ‘Violence’ Is From Right-Wingers Rather than show concern for the victims and bystanders of such violent crimes, the Times focuses more on the worries of immigrants: “Immigrant communities in Northern Ireland said they were living in fear.” Never mind the fear of native citizens who don’t recognize their own country anymore and are banned from noticing that it’s not the native-born who are most likely to commit these kinds of barbaric crimes. https://thefederalist.com/2026/06/11/after-beheading-attempt-in-ireland-new-york-times-says-the-real-violence-is-from-right-wingers/
