I am on a train waiting to leave Utrecht for Baarn. It’s still daylight, but it may be gone by the time I get to my bicycle.
Maastricht is a lively place and a day trip just wasn’t enough. I went on a tour of limestone caves that date back many centuries. During WW2 the Dutch government stored many art works in these caves to protect them from any damage from bombings, etc. Large painting were removed from their frames and rolled up, among them was The Night Watchman by Rembrandt.
