Good moaning, good friends. I greet you well.
I'm not feeling good at all due to on-going problems with my lungs. Infection after infection and still no solution; but - hey-ho - I've met people far worse off over the past few months.
I've had Her Indoors sit me up in front of the computer because I was incensed listening to His Majesty's speech before Congress last night.
My loyalty is to the Crown. The person wearing it is a different matter.
In fairness to the King, that "speech to the Democrats" has the Starmer government's paw-prints all over it - and the King delivered it at exactly the same time the execrable Starmer was fighting off an attempt to put the prime minister before a parliamentary scrutiny committee where the truth of what went on during the sordid Peter Mandelson affair would have been extorted. Starmer imposed a three-line whip on his own MPs to head off any rebellion. He, predictably, took the coward's way out.
If you're British then you could spot immediately the several anti-Trump, pro-EU swipes included in the King's speech.
The line that most incensed me was the one intended to put you to sleep - the King said that his government was committed to increasing defence spending. Don't worry, His Majesty's government is putting things right and Britain will soon be back, fighting fit - that was the message.
Well don't you believe it. There's a world of difference between saying you're "committed" to something and actually doing something. The government may as well say it's committed to founding a colony of breeding transexuals on Venus.
It hasn't increased defence spending, and has absolutely no plans to do so. Like their Conservative predecessors, the best this Labour government has done is to fold civilian budgets into the defence budget and to claim - voila! - an increase in defence spending. But the army, navy and air force all continue to shrink to joke levels.
The King's speech used the self-same language the government over here uses in its increasingly desperate attempts to gull a British people which long ago ceased to believe a word it said. And the King must have known he uttered a lie even as the words left his mouth.
Apart from his own subjects, I think the only other person who won't have been taken in is DJT.
That's my rant over. Back to bed. Have a good day, good mates.
After four decades of hard work, Mark finally gets the promotion he deserves… to head of homemade pizza tasting.
So tell me, what was your milestone work anniversary gift?
Another trip around the sun. Happy Birthday!

Okay, let's start Wednesday off with some fun. Waiting to go to town for jury duty. I am going to do my civic duty. If they ask, I will admit to being a devout Conservative and been on The Gutter since 2020 and let the chips fall where they may.
So here are some memes and thoughts on the WHCD in the
"So Mrs Lincoln, other than that... how was the play?" vein
