Jeff Beck was primarily inspired to create his 1975 album Blow by Blow after hearing the Mahavishnu Orchestra’s 1974 album Apocalypse.
Beck was heavily influenced by the blend of aggressive guitar and orchestral arrangements produced by George Martin. Beck hired Martin to produce Blow by Blow, aiming for a similar jazz-fusion sound.
