Greenland moaning, esteemed friends. I greet you well.
Now there's a good idea - the US leases Greenland for 100 years. That will effectively mean "forever".
The US wins, Denmark wins, Europe (undeservedly) wins.
Everyone's a winner! as we like to say here.
Here's another good idea - investigate the alleged "increases" in defence spending on the part of the NATO allies for what they mean in reality, because this directly impacts what you, the US taxpayer, fork out in US defence spending.
For instance, the UK has allocated ยฃ4 billion for Ukraine's unwinnable war. Sounds great, if you like that sort of thing.
Unfortunately the ยฃ4 billion has been folded into the defence budget, where it joins military pensions (folded into the budget by the "Conservatives" ) and the secret service budgets (folded into the defence budget last year by the current Labour government).
So British "defence spending" apparently keeps rising, but the British armed forces - all branches - continue to shrink. This little trick is being copied across Europe, most notably by France, which - like Britain - is addicted to welfare spending at the expense of all else.
Greenland aside, as US taxpayers you really should be getting on to your congressmen and women, urging them to ask hard questions of what European "defence spending" actually amounts to, country by country.
I think you'll be astounded by the answers. And bloody angry. Very bloody angry.
