Grimley moaning, friends across the seas. I greet you well.
Finally.
My router has at last gone blue and remained blue after several days of flickering between orange (no connection) and, er, blue.
We heard a very loud bang the other day, loud enough to bring neighbours to their doors, and ever since we've had no internet connection.
I've no idea what blew up, but in many ways it did us a great favour.
We read a lot anyway, physical books or Kindle books, but it's been nice to sit down in a cosily warmed parlour on these cold, dark evenings, to do some serious reading.
I'm half-way through Our Mutual Friend. I really would rather read it than watch some BBC or Netflix adaptation. Her Indoors has been reading Darby O'Gill and the Good People, by Herminie Templeton Kavanagh.
Much catching up to do with news, various Fox programmes, and this forum.
See y'all around.

A couple of hours ago, a Girl Scout in uniform came to the door with a cookie order form, and her parents were with her. My husband answered the door, and I took the order form and ordered a couple of boxes. The parents said we could pay cash now or go on line and order from her. Well, I hesitantly gave them the cash. When my sister was in Girl Scouts, you didn't have to pay until they delivered the cookies. My husband has been teasing me since, saying I should feel bad that I was cynical about a 10-year old out in the dark and cold in her uniform trying to sell cookies. Her form didn't have her name or address, but maybe that's a safety issue.
I hate that I am so suspicious, but on the other hand, rightfully so living here in the city.
He says for 12 bucks, I need to get over it LOL. The worst thing is we may not get the cookies and we don't need them anyway. He's right but I'm never going to hear the end of this one.🤣🤣
