The mystery at Tractor Supply has finally been solved!
On Black Friday, November 28th, I went there to take advantage of a great sale price and use my $10 birthday gift from them. I ended up buying a Carhartt shirt and donating a little money to the Future Farmers of America. While in a long line, a lady came up to me with a portable device to let me pay with my card. She tried a few times, but no luck, so I went to the regular cashier. The total bill was $12.79
When I checked my card balance a few days later, I had that charge, plus one for $57.21.
I contacted the store, and they told me to call Customer Solutions, which I did on December 1st. They took the info and assigned a reference # to me.
On the 4th, I called back and they said the Sales Audit Team was backlogged and they would send an e-mail to me, which they did. I called them 3 more times, and sent 3 e-mails to them, but with no luck.
Today, I got hold of John there, and he did a deep dive into the problem. Apparently, a customer 12 minutes after me purchased soap-on-a-rope, a bit, and a bridle device for a horse. I have 16 cats, but no horses!
They sent an e-mail to me to take to the store for a refund, plus gave a $50 gift card to me for the hassle of dealing with them over the past month.
