Baking toll house cookies and finishing up the Chex Mix(special edition with extra Worcestershire sauce(and reduced salt), honey roasted peanuts, smoked almonds and cinnamon glazed walnuts) to be bagged and delivered this afternoon and tomorrow to neighbors, friends and Church buddies. I made 20 batches of Chex mix...I have it down to a science. While I am doing such Christmasy things I thought I would put on my favorite version of A Christmas Carol...which has to be...wait for it...
The 1984 version starring George C Scott, because it is so loyal to the book...and because George can play a gruff person so well.(Although I loved his comedic talents in Dr Strangelove)
It came in #3 on this list...fair enough. After the Alastair Sim version(okay) and A Muppet Christmas Carol(Heatwave!)
Disappointed that Mr Magoo's came in so low...but they actually have the ghosts in the wrong order...but they do sing of Razzleberry Dressing.
"There is more of gravy than the grave about you Jacob Marley"
Christmas is just 2 days away. Which movie are you watching first?
For me, it’s Die Hard(yes, it counts).
The kids have arrived and Charlie mostly remembered them. Charlie now has extra people to scratch his tummy and play ball with them. The kids and my husband are playing golf today, and I'm cooking an 18 pound ham. (I don't play golf. I have a total lack of eye-hand coordination.) The kids are so much fun to be around. Always upbeat, finding laughter. They'll be here until Saturday morning. They have to go home to get ready for a golf tournament their son will be in. I'm happy that they make the trip every year from MD.
