We are so grateful to have found The Gutter and to be part of a place where we can meet wonderful people and feel a real sense of community. We truly have so much to be thankful for, and today we love to celebrate that together.

As for me, I’m thankful that my family is healthy and happy, that the kids have their homes and their jobs, and that I can pause during the day to notice something in nature I don’t see every day…..flock of starlings murmuring around our refinery.
Those little moments mean everything.

If you are ever going to utilize your uniform, rank and medals as some sort of flex, maybe get a buddy (or senior enlisted trusted advisor) to check your uniform first.
Senator Mark Kelly (former Navy Captain and Astronaut) got his second and third rows of medals reversed in his social media posts.
Most wouldn’t catch it. Even if you were in the Navy.
But, some will, including the most anal service about military uniforms, The Marines.
Not only are they out of the order of precedence, they are sloppily placed and lack appropriate spacing.
To civilians, none of this means a thing.
But to those of us who have shed blood, sweat, tears and buried buddies, it is important.
A Chief Petty Officer could have prevented this.
Do better.
