People deal with sadness and grief in different ways. I inevitably gravitate toward (attempts at) humor.
If you're not up for that yet, please ignore the rest of this post and keep scrolling to others (Punch lines are on subsequent panels)...(3)

Ireland will withdraw from the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest if Israel is allowed to take part.

Spain, Iceland and Slovenia have also indicated they may not take part.

Ireland's national broadcaster, RTÉ, is funded (like the BBC) by a licence fee, payable by everybody owning a television set. And like the BBC, RTÉ is fairly well-stocked with the liberal-left products of Irish academe.

That's where the decision to withdraw comes from. Not from the Irish government (though it's probably in cahoots), and still less from the much despised licence-fee payers of the general public, who fund the greatly exaggerated salaries of this political caucus.

Imagine in the USA, if you were forced to pay a licence fee to fund PBS purely because you owned a television set, and PBS began taking overtly political decisions without troubling to ask your - or the government's - opinion on the matter?
