“Just a ‘Hoodie’”
It’s a cold blustery day here in SD, so I whipped out an old ‘Hoodie’.
On April 16, 2007, there was a mass shooting on the VA Tech campus, Blacksburg VA.
My Daughter and future son in law were members of the Student led rescue squad. My daughter wasn’t on duty that day, but my future son in law was.
The rescue squad was instrumental in providing transport and first aid to wounded students. They also transported some of the ‘deceased’.
My daughter called me that afternoon to make sure that we knew she was OK.
She also informed me that they had been so busy, that none of them had eaten.
I called a local restaurant and had food sent to the station house.
They presented me with this Personalized hoodie at the end of the year.
I was honored, I still get choked up.
