Today is the day my Mother passed away in 2001. I’m an only child so I was very close to her. I had a difficult childhood because I didn’t spend much time with her as she was divorced and held more than one job. It wasn’t until I reached 2nd grade that she found the perfect man for her and perfect stepfather for me.
But during those younger years, mother didn’t realize how much damage our separation had affected me. I know after I became an adult, she was only doing her best for me.
I know there’s worse situations than mine, but at the time I didn’t know any better.
So Mom, I couldn’t be any luckier than to have a mom such as you. You taught me So much by watching you, as far as being tough and being independent and not counting on anyone to take care of me if ever need be.

I just don't understand this. It's OK if singers perform songs about glorifying the devil, disrespecting women, killing the police, or any other number of things that I've heard on the radio or seen performed at the Grammys.
