I'm thoroughly disgusted with Republican politicians right now.
Before ACA, private insurance was affordable because you only bought the coverage you needed directly from insurance companies (for our family of 3, it was about $400-$500/mo.).
This HSA proposal is still just another government handout, except the money is going to individuals instead of the insurance companies. And it still requires that you buy plans from the ACA insurance exchange, whose premiums for families can run thousands of dollars per month (the premium on the exchange for the same plan we had before Obamacare was $2400 per month - about 5 times what had been previously paid for private insurance).
This is just putting lipstick on a pig instead of fixing the problem. And the taxpayer will still be footing the bill annually for these HSA deposits. 😖🙄
And as conservatives in Congress currently have a majority, why aren't they just repealing the ACA? Rep. Biggs put forward HR114 in January, but the House has ...
