I don't understand how the FBI can say the three people planting IEDs are NOT involved with the driver. I hope they are just saying that to the public to "smoke them out".

I've never seen so much chip seal or so many potholes on roads and highways in other states we have visited, not to mention all the bumps and grooves. 😬
There did appear to be quite a bit of construction happening on the interstates, so maybe they're starting to repair them.
