Why does the GOP have so much of a problem with keeping members in line? Pelosi never did, They voted as a solid block with no defections. What's the difference?
Answer is simple...there are members of the GOP with integrity who want NOTHING tangible. They cannot be bribed with a quid pro quo of "you give me money for this and I give you money for that"
They do not want "stuff", they want the opposite of stuff...they want a balanced budeget and to shut down agencies. They want to NOT spend money. They want to balance the budget.
It is hard to sway somebody who wants nothing.
Democrats can always be bribed, they will always say..."Hey, I think your project is a total waste of money, but if I vote for yours, will you vote for mine?" And the answer is always "yeah, sure" and it results in 1500 page CR's
And for the Democrats/Left/Liberal/Progressive/Socialist/Communist/Woke, there is always a deal to be made...because they never worry about the money or how much they spend...because it is not their money...it is the taxpayers money...or worse...they believe the government can simply print money and there will be no consequences.
I technically don't have a problem shutting down the Government...AFTER...they get Trump in office so he can start using the Executive Branch's power to slam closed the Border.
C'mon boys and girls. Accept Johnson and then have your fight.

A bit of Physical Science History
French physicist Léon Foucault publicly demonstrated the Earth's rotation on its axis in 1851 using his famous pendulum, a feat commemorated annually on January 8th (Earth's Rotation Day), providing simple, direct, visual proof of Earth's spin by showing the pendulum's swing plane appear to shift as the planet rotated beneath it.
Key Details of Foucault's Experiment:
@ The Setup (1851): Foucault suspended a heavy pendulum (a brass ball on a long wire) from the ceiling of his home in Paris.
@ The Observation: The pendulum swung back and forth, but over time, its swing plane seemed to rotate relative to the floor.
@ The Conclusion: The pendulum's plane of oscillation remained constant, but the Earth rotated underneath it, proving the planet's rotation.
@ Further Demonstration: He later moved the experiment to the Paris Observatory and then, famously, from the dome of the Panthéon, using a longer pendulum to make the effect more dramatic.
