NATIONAL BLACK COW DAY
National Black Cow Day on June 10 celebrates a delicious ice cream float beverage also known as a Root Beer Float. That's right, the beverage made with root beer and vanilla ice cream was is called a Black Cow. Moo-ve along with us as we learn a brief history about the Black Cow and hopefully enjoy a Black Cow in the process!

Frank J. Wisner of Cripple Creek, Colorado, receives credit for inventing the Black Cow in August of 1893. Wisner was the owner of the Cripple Creek Cow Mountain Gold Mining Company.
The story goes that one night he found himself staring out the window thinking about the line of soda waters that he was producing for the citizens of Cripple Creek. Suddenly, an idea struck him. While looking out the window, he noticed the full moon was shining on the snow-capped Cow Mountain. It reminded him of a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
