Well, we finally made it to see "Reagan" last night and I want to share my impressions and maybe see what y'all who've seen it thought.
1. I think Dennis Quaid deserves an award for his portrayal. It captured the humor, voice, mannerisms and essence of Reagan without being a parody or impression work. He truly reflected the man's spirit, making him recognizable.
2. Reagan, God bless him, was never as gorgeous as Dennis Quaid. Just saying. "Innerspace" - just dreamy.
3. It truly showed the genuine love and devotion between Ron and Nancy AND the incredible relationship he had with his mom.
4. Although it was a bit of a love letter to the man, It was very even handed and didn't leave out controversies.
5. All the actors were extremely good in their roles. The supporting cast was a fantastic group of all-star actors, some are my very favorite.
6. It made me really long for a true leader in the White House again.
7. It took me back to my 20s and the MASSIVE and consequential events of the late 70s through the early 90s. Because of Reagan's courage and commitment to freedom, my daughter has never lived one day in a world with a Berlin Wall, and was born the year the USSR fell. It does, however, make her generation uniquely vulnerable to the lies of Communism.
8. Lastly, I cried at the end because President Reagan showed us how a leader faces Alzheimer's with honesty, forthrightness, class and courage. Also, the way it was done so lyrically, with the stunningly beautiful background of the Santa Ynez Mountains and the ever majestic Pacific, the true home of my heart.
I learned new things and was very interested in the things I had never known. I wish @GregGutfeld could have Dennis Quaid on the show. Just a thought.
So, who else saw it. What did you think?
No winners!!! He got me a head scratcher because I'm always asking him to scratch my head at night.
We got married! 36 years. And, yes , Greg walked me down the aisle. If you can guess what Mark's gift to me was, you will win a prize. Good luck! It will be impossible!!!
Thank you for watching the video! I hope you enjoyed it.
