We all know who the obvious heroes of 2020 are: the first responders, the people working on vaccines, the people who work the liquor stores when everything else is closed.
that's easy.
but what about the people who unintentionally make our lives better?
they didn't mean to do it - they just did - thru their mistakes.
for example:
-hilaria baldwin. she's a hero because she finally provided us with a story we all can laugh along with. Her pretending to be Spanish gave all of us a chance to poke fun of her, during the otherwise, worst news of the century. We needed her pretentious lies to make us smile.
she had a rough christmas, so we could have a fun one.
-the "karen" in the park. Remember that lady who called the police on the black guy because he told her to put her dog on the leash? So why is she a hero? Because her irrational misguided panic reminds us, that as humans, we all are capable of this.
Who hasn't snapped at people for no reason? or misidentified a culprit where there is none. The worst feeling you can experience, is when you falsely accuse someone of something. it's the worst. When someone else does it, remind yourself that you've done it too - and do it less. or not at all.
-Jeffrey Toobin. We don't need to rehash what he did. but what he did served as a red flag- or a reminder - that anything embarrassing can be accidentally recorded. in his case its humiliating.
but his humiliation now reminds millions of men - and women - to check your lap top after every zoom call. I check my computer when i'm filming anything now.
so you see what i mean by "unintentional heroes."
do you have any? i'd love to hear about them!
Congratulations to @Fuezie and @KevinProudTexan. Your questions were chosen for tonight’s Ask Greg and the Panelists.
@Fuezie What's one everyday thing that totally stresses you out and how do you deal with it...?
@KevinProudTexan Who is the most underrated celebrity or artist you wish everyone knew about?
“The first cut”
Is the deepest…
I cut two butcher’s snacks to square it up. I then cut two 15+ oz NY strips, and a 8 oz NY Strip from it.
The remaining almost 10 lbs will feed 8 people at tomorrow night’s gathering.
The Strip Loin cost $139.00, that’s just a little over $17.00 per person. Plus five more steaks, cheaper than a steak house.
I will Sous Vide it for 8-10 hours tomorrow @ 135F.
By the way, my Breaking Knife is sharp as hell. Thankfully I only sliced one finger.
Not badly.
I was wiping the knife off and got a finger a little too close to the working end.

I don't talk with many people at my new-ish job, just keep to myself but hear a lot of conversations in the office. I heard this one lady criticize DJT when I first started so I made a mental note. Today we were in the lunchroom together and she was chit chatting. She lives in the city like I do, but the opposite direction. Like all of us, she said her neighborhood used to be nice, but lately, over time...
Anyway, she made a comment, "I never thought about the illegals until I realized, there's hardly any crime in my neighborhood anymore, and they are not all hanging around anymore". Now, she didn't know which way I leaned, but I was encouraged. Maybe people are REALLY starting to pay attention!!
